1. Who we are

Garbage Bags Kenya is a supplier of garbage bags and bin liners based in Nairobi, Kenya. We operate the website garbagebags.co.ke. You can reach us at orders@garbagebags.co.ke or 0757 595 465.

2. What data we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Delivery address
  • Order details (products, quantities, amounts)

We do not collect payment card details. All payments are arranged based on clients request.

3. Why we collect it

We use your data solely to:

  • Process and fulfil your order
  • Contact you to confirm and arrange delivery
  • Send you an order confirmation by email
  • Resolve any issues with your order

We do not use your data for marketing unless you explicitly ask us to. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. How we store it

Your data is stored on a secure server in Kenya operated by Host Africa. Access is restricted to authorised Garbage Bags Kenya staff only. We retain order records for up to 7 years for business accounting purposes, as required by Kenyan law.

5. Third parties

We share minimal data with:

  • Brevo — to send order confirmation emails
  • Twilio — to send WhatsApp order notifications (when enabled)
  • Google Analytics — anonymous site usage data (if GTM is configured)
  • Cloudinary — to host product images

None of these parties receive your personal data beyond what is necessary to provide their service.

6. Your rights

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to the processing of your data

7. Cookies

We use a single browser cookie (localStorage) to remember your shopping cart between visits. We do not use tracking cookies unless Google Tag Manager is configured by our marketing team, in which case Google Analytics cookies may be set.
